An Inviting Backyard
A busy family, residing in the outskirts of Appleton, WI approached our landscape design team with the desire to transform their outdoor space into a functional and aesthetically pleasing area. Their vision included a new patio with a firepit and an area for a covered structure to relax and watch TV, while maintaining room for backyard activities. The existing concrete patio and existing patio needed removal to pave the way for this transformative project.
Client's Project Goals
1. Functional Patio: Create a patio that accommodates the family's fun and busy lifestyle.
2. Firepit: Incorporate a firepit for cozy gatherings.
3. Dedicated Area For Relaxation: Add a dedicated area for a covered structure with an outdoor TV and relaxing outdoor furniture.
4. Ample Space : Incorporate all of the firepit and patio requests while allowing open space for backyard sports and Jordy, the family dog.
The landscape design focused on creating distinct zones to cater to various activities while maintaining a harmonious and visually appealing layout. The patio was designed to be the central hub, with a circular firepit for gatherings. A structure was strategically placed to provide shade and house an outdoor TV for family entertainment.

Implementation
1. Demolition and Site Preparation: Removal of the existing concrete patio, stoop, shrubs while working around existing tree. Grading and leveling of the area to ensure proper drainage.
2. Hardscape and Firepit Installation: Installation of paver patio and firepit with Unilock products.
3. Landscaping: Selection and planting of low-maintenance and aesthetically pleasing plants to enhance the overall atmosphere.
Strategic placement of greenery to create a sense of privacy without compromising the open feel of the space.
